Littering blamed for cyclist's death

Motorcyclists must deal with the fatal disadvantage of lacking protection in crashes with other vehicles. But, motorcycle accidents have other and sometimes, unusual, causes. Willowbrook plant leads to nearly 75 lawsuits

Almost 75 personal injury lawsuits were filed against Sterigenics over its closed ethylene oxide sterilization (EtO) plant in Willowbrook, Illinois. Plaintiffs claimed exposure to EtO from the plant, used to sterilize medical devices, caused them or their family members to suffer serious or terminal illnesses over 30 years.

Wage claim judgments elusive for some workers

Being properly paid is an important worker right. Accordingly, workers who are not paid their entitled wages may file a claim and seek enforcement with the Illinois Department of Labor. But, 75 percent of workers who won a wage claim under the state's employment law since 2018 have not received any money.
